Listening to the music is like sitting on a wall on a council estate and listening in everybody’s kitchen windows whilst an edgy guitar plays. I say “play” because the bold and bluesy guitar licks are just as important as Lee’s vocals anyday, bringing the riff into purring effect and squeezing out thrilling solos. Put together, the sound resembles that of the lovechild of The Libertines and The White Stripes, with Liam Gallagher as an uncle. The music is refreshing in that it deals with less mainstream subjects and talks about real life the way Mike Skinner would do. I’m sure his rock band wouldn’t sound much different to this. Lee (vocals, bass), Jim (guitar) and Dave (drums) have a sound that you can’t refuse. It is as British as fish ‘n’ chips, as dirty as a door mat and has about as much attitude as Johnny Rotten’s long lost brother.
