4.1. Amplifiers

If you`re going to buy an amp, don`t be tempted by a practice amp. They may be small and easy to carry but they don`t have the power for a gig and they are very difficult to sell on. Look for an amp of around the 100W mark. This will be not too big and heavy and plenty big enough for your average bar gig. If you are going to play bigger venues then you will be miked up through the PA anyway so all you need the amp for is stage sound and again 100W is fine for that.
